UNEMPLOYMENT IN DUBAI
In the year 2000 the unemployment rate in Dubai was 1.8 % which is low compared to global standards. In the following couple of years the rate increased and now stands at about 2.4 %. This is which still very low and makes Dubai seventh among nearly two hundred countries in terms of their unemployment rate.
The number of national women with higher education is more than double the number of national men. Despite this fact, there are a total of 48.8 % unemployed women in Dubai with the rate for men standing at only 8.2 %.
