JOBS IN DUBAI
The job market in Dubai offers many opportunities for skilled workers as 80% of the working population is expatriate. The government has become increasingly concerned about the high unemployment rate for UAE nationals and is encouraging employers to recruit Emirati graduates. The effect of Emiritisation (the replacement of expatiates with UAE nationals) has made the biggest inroads in government and finance sectors (mostly in banking but with insurance catching up). Banks are now expected to fill recruitment quotas of UAE nationals and failure to do this will result in the restriction of their business activities. The best way for UK graduates to gain employment in this sector is if they have a proven background in this field or are transferred to Dubai by their current employer.
