INTERVIEW TIPS FOR DUBAI

An interview is not only important for you but also for the company. The main reason for an interview is to enable the interviewer to find out if you have the right background and the necessary skills for this job. And it is your chance to make sure it is the job you are looking for and that you would feel comfortable in the company.

The key for a successful interview is preparation. Firstly pick up information about the company and then about the position you are interested in. The best way to do so is to have a look at the company's web page. Information about history, policies and much more can be found on most of them.

Some examples of questions you like to ask might be:
- What are promotion prospects in this position and in what time frame?
- What would you like done differently by the next person who fills this position?
- Why is this position available?

Do not ask questions about salary unless the interviewer mentions the subject first.

Questions you might be asked by the interviewer are:
- What are your strengths?
- Are you willing to relocate?
- Where do you want to be in five years time?
- How do you handle pressure?
- Why do you want to work for us?
- What have you done that shows initiative in your career?
- Why did you leave your last job?

Try to stay calm during the interview, arrive early, show interest in the company, keep eye contact and switch of your mobile phone. Once the interview is over, write down all the newly gained information and think the interview through. Ask yourself what you could have done better or which parts you think went well. Good luck!
