A: They are usually permanent.

A: Both are generally cheaper.

A: That depends totally on the type of job you are looking for. It can take anything from one to four months.
Q: Do employers fly potential candidates out to Dubai for an interview?
A: It is quite common for employers to fly out people they are interested in. Sometimes after they carry out an initial screening in your own country.
Q If I want to make a trip home during my employment period, will my employer pay the airfare?
A: You are entitled to five weeks paid leave to your home country which includes the air fares for members of your immediate family.
Q: How long is maternity leave?
A: Usually 45-60 days but employees can negotiate individually and there is some discussion about increasing this.
Q: Are there any regulations concerning clothing?
A: Dubai has a relaxed dress code but do not wear anything that would be considered too revealing. Light weight summer clothing is perfect but bring a light jacket for evenings. Smart casual is the code for night clubs.
Q: Are there any local customs I should be aware of?
A: Do not sit in a way where the soles of you feet are pointing at someone. During Ramadan abstain from the consumption of alcohol or food in public. Do not take photographs of military establishments or national women.
Q: How much do you tip in restaurants?
A: 10% is the norm
Q: What are the average shopping hours in Dubai?
A: Shops generally open from 8.00am to 1.00 pm and then from 4.00 pm until 10.00 pm. On Fridays the souks, boutiques, food shops and department stores are usually open except during prayer time (11.30 am-1.00 pm). Larger shops will often stay closed until 4.00 or 5.00 pm.
